Vijai Mathur

He is a member of the Bar Council of Delhi, Fellow Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Fellow Member of Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

He provides assistance to several Indian and International clientele in domestic and cross border acquisitions, joint ventures, business restructuring.  

He assists clients’ in matters relating to entry strategy for foreign companies in setting up operations in India, employment laws, Investigations, Compliance Management, regulatory matters with FIPB and RBI etc., corporate governance, legal and regulatory compliances and business ethics, in particular, assistance in establishing code of corporate governance, bringing awareness of corporate governance to the company and its financial stakeholders, thereby adding value to the company and its stakeholders.

Before joining the Firm, during the last 20 years of his corporate work he was associated with the Gillette Group in India on the Board and Audit committee of its public listed subsidiary in India- Gillette India Ltd. During his tenure with Gillette, he led the Indian legal team and was responsible for new business development (launch of the blades and razor, oral care and batteries business) and for M&A activities of Gillette in India and neighbouring countries including setting up of subsidiaries in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
